Since its inception in 2013, the festival has become a beloved celebration of fibre arts, bringing together makers, creators, and wool lovers from around the world.

Held at the Skipton Auction Mart—once a bustling livestock market—Yarndale blends rustic charm with creative energy. It honours the journey of wool, from the dales’ sheep farms to skeins of hand-dyed yarn. This heritage, deeply rooted in the textile history of Yorkshire, sets the stage for a festival that celebrates craft, community, and colour.
