Know Me Better - Ancy-fancy - Sara Adamczyk

These sunny days make me feel like summer is just around the corner 😅... For this reason, I would like to remind you about that 100% Cotton collection is slowly  coming back to shop and I will introduce you to Sara Adamczyk @Ancy-fancy  along with the handmaid's she made.

Question:
When and how did you start your crochet/knitting adventure?

It all started a few years ago when I moved to Northern Ireland. One day, I was shopping at the town center and see a cheap yarn and crochet hook - I look at it, told to myself "yep, why not?", bought it and... stuck with Youtube. Trying to make a simple single crochet for almost an hour! I was very, very close to give up, as I have no idea how to do it, but luckily I keep trying and finally it worked. Then I tried to do some hats and simple dresses, but I keep feeling that this is not enough for me - I want something more! So I start to explore crochet world, discovering many types of crochet work, starting from amigurumi (where I make my first, crochet pattern for a pony) to shawls - and that's how it started :)
At the moment I start to working with knitting, which is my new obsession!

Question:
Do you have you favorite project? Are you doing just single individual works or do you like to go back to favorite ones and make them again.

My favorite project is my own shawl pattern - Raisa. That was first more complicated and finesse pattern which I made and I named it after my beloved daughter. Usually I made only one project from one pattern, but not because I don't want to make more, simply I have no time for it! I'm working full time as a welder, so usually I have just a 2-3 hours to crochet daily ( if my arms are not really tired from work ) which is not enough when you have soooo many pretty pattern around. But sometimes I manage to push backward less important project just to come back to patterns, which stole my heart completely.

Question:
In addition to making custom-made shawls, you also design your own patterns, tell us when and how you decided to create your own designs.

One day, about 6-7 years ago, I met two amazing women's - Danusia ( Dreamer- Szydełkowe Marzenia ) and Asia ( Szydełk.Asia ). I share with them my first, very simple project, a piece of crochet shawl which I was doing just for fun. They both started to motivate me to write this pattern and start selling it. That is how my first pattern relisted - Zeus Shawl. After it, I "catch the bug" and start to making more and more and more... and now history make a circle - now I am testing their patterns. I also met Basia ( Crochet Maddnes by BK ), who is absolutely fantastic in pushing me to keep going and is always ready to support.
Over past few years I try to make patterns for shawls, poncho, blouse, sweater and even a dress! They are mostly very simple, because my confidence in making something more complicated is still very low.

Question:
Are you planning to release new pattern soon? If yes what it will be and when?

Oh yes! I already have a shawl pattern ready (my testers are trying it now ) and it will be relisted on my birthday - 25th of March. After that I have a plans for something more...

Question:
What would you say to people who would like to start their adventure with handicrafts?

Do not give up and don not compare yourselves with others! If you are happy with Your work - that is a 90% of success! Everybody start someday and nobody is perfect at the first shot. Sometimes we have to do a step back to take another look and be able to move forward. Keep trying, keep looking for inspirations and do not give up.
And most important - have fun from it!!!

Thank you Sara for your engagement.

Pure cotton is not only nice, natural and pretty, it can also be washed in the washing machine. Even after repeated washing (remembering the rules of washing that I gives you), my products perfectly retain the shape and original appearance of the fibers.
